About This Role
The Queer Muslim Project is looking for a Digital Media Associate to help shape how our work lives and travels online. This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, design, and digital culture – editing reels, designing visuals, supporting campaigns, coordinating contributor content, and helping hold our internal communications together.
You’ll work closely with the Communications Lead, contributing both ideas and execution, and translating complex, tender, political work into thoughtful digital content. We’re a small arts organisation, so this role is hands-on, collaborative, and shaped by curiosity and care.
Location: India (Remote / Hybrid)
Type: Full-time
What You'll Do
Ideate, Shape & Share Stories
- Contribute ideas for digital campaigns, content series, and recurring formats rooted in TQMP’s programmes and values.
- Help translate concepts into simple, thoughtful content plans and timelines.
- Support campaigns from idea to publishing, with space to experiment, reflect, and learn together.
- Track what’s resonating across platforms and share insights with the team, staying attentive to shifts in formats, platforms, and digital culture.
Create & Edit Video Content
- Edit original reels using videos, photos, voice notes, and text shared by contributors.
- Shape raw material into clear, engaging stories that feel grounded, intentional, and platform-aware.
- Work with trends, audios, hooks, and pacing – without losing nuance, care, or context. Adapt content so stories can live across formats and platforms.
Visual Design & Creative Support
- Design static creatives for social media, events, announcements, and campaigns.
- Work closely with illustrators on briefs, feedback, and adaptations for digital and web use.
- Adapt designs for event materials when needed and coordinate with printers. Help maintain a cohesive visual language across TQMP’s digital presence.
Circulation, Care & Coordination
- Support internal newsletters and updates for fellows, partners, and collaborators by gathering copy, visuals, and programme highlights.
- Coordinate with writers, artists, filmmakers, and fellows to source and organise content.
- Help ensure TQMP’s work is thoughtfully published and archived – across social media, newsletters, and the website – so stories remain accessible beyond the moment.
Who This Role Is For
- You have 2-4 years of experience in digital media, content, or social media work.
- You’re comfortable editing short-form video and reels.
- You work confidently with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Premiere Pro).
- You can design clean, thoughtful visuals and write clear short-form copy in English.
- You’re okay working with imperfect, community-sourced material – and know how to honour it.
- You have basic experience with WordPress.
- You’re curious, self-driven, and enjoy working in small, evolving teams.
